Kanata-Nepean Bicycle Club - Bike Shorts

Bike Shorts: 7 August 2017

1. Wanted - Members of the KNBC Executive Committee

Unfortunately no one has responded to the request for volunteers to help run YOUR club. We have four important posts to fill. I must ask again that each of you consider being a volunteer. Some of the positions which will be open are critical to the ability of the club to function, but there are possibilities to re-arrange the deck chairs so that new members have a less demanding position. Please contact the Past President, Tim Sparling at or call at 613 839-1594.

2. Tour Leaders Planning Meeting

The Tour Leaders Planning meeting scheduled for Tuesday 08 August 2017 is postponed.

A good number of Tour Leaders are unavailable due to other commitments for that date.

3. The Rides 9-13 August 2017

Note: Changes in the Tour Schedule may occur on short notice. When time permits, a Bike Shorts Extra will be issued. For the most up to date schedule, please consult the KNBC Calendar at and click on Tours and Events then Upcoming Events.

4. KNBC Picnic

The KNBC picnic is scheduled for Sunday 27 August starting at 3:30 at the Trolley Station at Britannia Bay. The club will provide hamburgers and sausages but would welcome any salads or desserts you might care to bring. The committee (Carole and Tim) are looking for a couple of volunteer “chefs” for the BBQ. We would also appreciate knowing if you are coming so we can ensure there will be enough food! Since Carole will be away for the next ten days or so, please send Tim an email if you plan to attend, if you are volunteering to cook, or you are planning to bring a salad or dessert (
